Training philosophy

In our perpetually changing world, jobs change according to needs, technologies and markets. Some disciplines disappear, while others are suddenly in great demand. For an enterprise totally dedicated to customer satisfaction, it is essential that skilling be absolutely top rank. This means that every person working for the company must have the chance to acquire, either at his/her own initiative or at the request of the company, the skills and the qualifications which allow him or her to continue to meet the expectations of a constantly evolving professional environment.

Training is a long-haul business and the fruits may only be enjoyed in the long term, so our intention is more definite than ever to continue our efforts in such a way as to strengthen the position of COFELY Services into future.

As far as our people are concerned, this is an essential commitment, set down in our policy on harmonious company relations and sustainable development. COFELY Services wants every one of our people to be a recognised, competent, trained and happy professional.

COFELY Services has its own training centre, the COFELY Services Training Center.

COFELY Services Training Center policy

The COFELY Services Training Center intends to be seen as broad-based and integrated. The operational principles arising from this are based on the following innovative elements:

  • During the month of the new employee's intake, he or she will be invited to take part in a 5-day basic training programme on the technical principles practised in maintenance. This programme, which forms part of the reception procedure for new recruits, has been worked out in order to review the basic principles of the various techniques used in maintenance, to raise awareness of the way in which they interact, and also to inculcate the instructions to be obeyed in respect of safety.
  • Finishing training programmes are also offered to the employees. These are organised in several modules for each of the major techniques, and are run during working hours at the rate of one or two 4-day modules per year.
  • In the case of employees who have received less training, COFELY Services Training Center organises courses which are held on Saturday mornings from 8:00 am to midday. These training courses are open to anyone who wishes to participate, that is to say, on a voluntary basis and without the need for permission from the hierarchy, but time spent is not paid. Depending on the technique in question, these courses last from 14 to 17 Saturday mornings. At the end of the session the trainee takes a skills test and if successful COFELY Services grants him or her a bonus.
  • Employees may take part in other training schemes, such as those organised within the framework of parity agreements, those required by technical regulations, safety standards, or certifications, or those specific to technologies or materials which are usually run at the premises of the suppliers.

COFELY Services is more convinced than ever of the importance of having a training organisation to raise the level of knowledge and to promote the multi-skilling and expertise of its people.
